The NC Computer Skills Test by Dov Rosenberg, Testing Coordinator
Added: 11/19/08 8:23 AM This Friday, November 21 and Monday, November 24, all 8th graders will take the NC Computer Skills Test. The state of North Carolina requires that all 8th grade students take this test in order to assess their abilities with respect to computer terminology, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, computer ethics, and telecommunications. Students must pass this test in order to graduate from high school. For help and practice with the NC Computer Skills Test please take a look at our helpful resources and then check out the Standardized Testing Page for other pertinent info. I've been working hard to ensure our students' success but there's a few things you can do to help your child be successful, too!
- Talk with them about any anxieties they may be experiencing
- Take a look at the Computer Skills Test resources on our website
- Don't schedule any doctor or dentist appointments for the morning of the test - Make sure they do not miss school on any testing days - Make sure they get a good night's sleep
- Provide them with a healthy breakfast
- Make sure that they arrive at school on time
- Smile and give encouragement!
We are also in need of parent support. In order to administer any state test, we need a proctor for each testing room during each testing session. Please take a look at the table below and let me know if you are able to help us out during any of the time slots. Proctors will not have to do anything but hang out with the teacher and students who are testing.
